Schools

I am available to work on a Freelance sessional basis with schools either offering 1:1 or group sessions.

Prior to commencement of therapy parental and/or carer agreement is essential and contact with carers is important to acertain the individuals needs. Along with individual support, group sessions can be of particular benefit to help build group cohesion and to develop support groups within a school setting.

Training maybe offered to teaching groups, therapeutic staff and pastoral support staff.  Skills gained can be used within a variety of ways including in class in terms of circle time activities or to support individuals with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, additional learning needs, complex needs, bullying and stress related issues as well as symptoms relating to low mood.

Teachers and schools may be contacted during the assessment process or during therapy to help gain a wider picture of the client and to ensure that we are working to support the individual.  This may be in the form of requesting questionnaires or a meeting with the appropriate individual connected to that child, i.e. a teacher or keyworker.
